Our Foundation Netherland Dwarfs
Below are some of the rabbits that no longer reside with us, but have helped make our Netherland Dwarf herd. We love these buns!
Bucks
Basil
Rosie's Jackson
Sire: Rosie's General - Broken Chestnut
Dam: Lori's Kelli - Broken Black Variety: Broken Chestnut Legs: Not Shown Jackson was the very first buck I purchased to improve on the lutino herd. He was picked up at Lesa Rose's house while Shianne and I were delivering and picking up a couple of cats in the northern Midwest. He is grandfather to SPH's Scattershot, and father to both GMtC's Haiden and Haisley. His beautiful thick and well furred ears and beautifully shaped head are continually passed along from generation to generation. |
Does
Charlotte
Like Basil, Charlotte was the original Lutino doe I used that was imported from the UK. She had the size, color and fur, and what she lacked in type, she made up for with versatility. She was used in not only the Dwarf herd, but is the sole lutino gene contributor to the Britannia Petite herd. In addition, she helped with the Mini rex herd as well. |
SPH's Scattershot
Sire: SPH's Travis - Broken Chestnut, Lutino Carrier
Dam: SPH's Shay - Broken Chestnut - Lutino Carrier Variety: Broken Shadow Lutino Legs: Not Shown Scattershot was such a beautifully colored doe. Her type was quite nice and she had a monster head for a doe. I sadly lost her a few weeks after her first litter after a bad bout of enteritis. She had a very sweet personality and was so gentle with her babies. We kept two lovely daughters from that litter, both of whom have litters of their own now. |
