Mini Rex Bucks
Below are the current bucks residing in my rabbitry and contributing to my Lutino mini rex development. They are not for sale unless noted. We use several colors to help improve fur quality and type. In our Lutinos, we use black, blue and castor, and REWs that are genetic self or castor. Even though we are focusing on Lutino varieties primarily, we get other colors as a result of using other colors for improvement and often keep Lutino free offspring to continue to improve our non-lutino lines.
Lutinos; Shadow and Dove
SPH's Rufio
Sire: SPH's Comenzando - Broken Black Otter, Lutino Carrier
Dam: SPH's Simo - Castor, Lutino Carrier Variety: Broken Rubino (Red Lutino) Legs: Not showable This handsome buck is the best typed lutino I have produced thus far in my lutino mini rex project. His fur could use more density, but the texture is correct and his color is beautiful. He's got that short, bucky head that I love, and his type is pretty darn nice, considering he's an F6. His first litters are in the box and I am excited to see what he produces. |
SPH's Shadow Piggy
Sire: SPH's Comenzando - Broken Black Otter, Lutino Carrier
Dam: SPH's Weezer - Broken Castor, Lutino Carrier Variety: Shadow Lutino (Castor Lutino) Legs: Not showable Shadow piggy may not have the best of type, but his fur is by far the best I have gotten on any of my lutinos. He's been bred to some of my typier does for hopefully some better typed babies with this improved fur. Super sweet meat-lump buck with a beautiful head and bold eye. |
SPH's Comenzando
Sire: GC EZDae's/3GR's Tornado - Broken Castor
Dam: Berlena's Rubi - Broken Shadow Lutino Variety: Broken Black Otter Legs: Not Shown Comenzando means 'Beginning', which I thought was the perfect name for the first buck in my Lutino mini rex project that I thought looked and felt like a competitive mini rex that I would feel proud putting on the show table. Correct type, beautiful head, remarkably correct fur and a sweet, laid back disposition. He has produced some very beautiful Lutino offspring thus far, and I am thrilled to have been blessed with such a gorgeous herd buck. He carries non extension and self, and I hope to get some self based Lutinos from him in the future. |
Non-Lutino; Black and Castor
GC EZDae's/3GR's Tornado
Sire: EZDae's/3GR's Hurricane - Broken Black Otter
Dam: Gallery's Konvict - White, Multiple BIS winner Variety: Broken Castor Legs: 6 - BIS/RIS winner This gorgeous buck is our main herd buck and the best I could have hoped for to improve our lutino development program. He is dark in surface color, but his type and fur are incredible, His sweet, easygoing disposition has passed along to his offspring, as well at that stellar fur and body. |
